ABOUT OUR FOUNDER David Beyda has been operating his headshot photo studio, The DAVID BEYDA STUDIO, in midtown Manhattan since 1997; where he has honed his craft, as a portrait photographer, and developed his philosophy on portraiture--he has photographed literally thousands of people including aspiring actors and actresses, business people, from executive to CEO, notable cultural figures, great architects, designers and of course aspiring daters of all shapes and sizes. A graduate of the NYU's Tisch School of the arts where he studied photography and majored motion picture production he went on to study acting at the William Esper Studio; where he completed their two year program in Meisner training. A student of human nature David has also studied acting with Bobby Lewis and with Austin Pendleton at HB Studios. HEADSHOT/DATING PHOTO FACT What makes people want to meet you from your photo? That real, thinking, feeling, person portrayed there. There is nothing more interesting than you...naturally. David's goal is to capture you as you would be in nature; instead of a posed dry representation. This is what makes a great dating photo. Utilizing the latest Digital Headshot technology our headshots are better than ever; because you are involved Previewing the actual shots, as we are working, allows for a real exploration and discovery. Adjustments of light, make-up, wardrode, angle and facial expression all happen while we are shooting your headshot session; until we get that ultimate dating photo. The technique David has devoped includes, listening, humor, absurdity, psychology, scatological references and a bit of mind reading. ItÍs a fun session, always interesting. ABOUT THE STUDIO Cupid Photo and David Beyda Studio, is a fully equiped digital headshot studio located in midtown Manhattan at 140 West 32nd Street. We have an indoor and an outdoor shooting area, where we can utilize the natural light. HOW TO GET HERE Subways and Mass transit: We are located a half a block from Penn Station and the Path trains. Subways nearby include the 1,9,2, A, C, E, F, Q, B, D, N & R trains. Note: When you get to 140 West 32nd Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues) you will see a beauty salon (called "Unisex Salon" you just enter through the salon and then toward the rear of the shop you'll see a door with a sign that says "PHOTO STUDIO" this door will open onto a staircase and then you take that staircase up one flight to our studio.
